There is a report in Malaysiakini that BN candidate Isa, while campaigning in the military base and to civil servants, said that the civil servants must support the government of the day. This arguement is not new-and should be rejected because civil servants are entitled to free choice as any other voters/citizens of the country. However this argument has never been disputed by the SPR-who themselves could have been indoctrinated by such spurious claim of loyalty!
Civil servants-including the military, are loyal only to the government -not the ruling party! By confusing the 2 the BN candidate is trying to pressure the civil servants to vote for him. This is unacceptable for a free election-as much as using government position to campaign to civil servants is!
