Mafrel observer report that the KTM Ahmad Mohd Nor disallowed a voter from assisting his father to mark the vote at SM Sains Sultan Mohd Jiwa. The normal procedure is for the claose family member involved to fill in a form to testify to the family relationship and then he/she would be allowed to assist the voter to mark the ballot. The son complained to Mafrel observer saying his father can’t even hold a pen and that he fear the KTM may not mark the ballot paper as requested.
Earlier the same KTM called his superior to find out if Mafrel observers are allowed into the polling stations/classrooms. He then said `no’, despite the fact that the name tags issued by SPR all stated clearly the observers are allowed to enter the classrooms, in contravention to the do and don’t list issues by SPR-which was copied from the Kuala Terengganu rules. So which one is the updated ones?
There are 4-5 saluran /voting streams inside the big school-and our observer find it tough to cover all classrooms in 1 go. Preferably there should be 1 observer for each classroom.
