the very fact that they used the vehicles is consider a misuse. in any elections/by-elections, during campaigning, government vehicles and any other machineries should not be use.

what if those govt vehicles are actually being used for their usual official business? i don’t see those vehicles bring any party flags/stickers or bring the candidate along.
i agree with bujangskrang9801. if those govt vehicle is said being misused during campaigning, they should have bring party flags/stickers or candidate along which can be considered as the most obvious campaigning evidence. i guess those govt vehicles is considered a misuse because maybe they never been seen in Lubok Antu before. what about other govt vehicles like police, army, jpn, spr etc? are they being misused too because they are only seen during elections/by elections? if i’m not mistaken, the usage of govt vehicles is subject to govt procedures, rules & regulations.
if these vehicles are being used for official purpose, i guess it’s ok, but even though if these vehicles do not carry party flag/stickers but they are being used for campaigning, means they are being misused. the problem is of course how to tell the distinction between official use and non official use. to be used for campaigning is consider non official, but the argument may be that they are not using it for campaigning. it’s kind of complicated. i’m not too sure but perhaps our northern region ‘boss’ bk ong might be able to throw more light on this matter. i’ll see if i can get him to come in here to explain.
i think manoksabong has some points there too regarding that these govt vehicles rarely seen in lubuk antu but during election campaigning time, seen all the time!
as for vehicles like the police and SPR – no definetely they are not seen as govt vehicles being misused, because remember, they are suppose to be neutral. they are not on any parties’ side. they are there as ‘enforcers’ not to back up the candidate. whereas of course govt official cars will back up the BN candidate where BN is the govt.
Halo folks,
The evidence of misuse is from the fact that they were seen parking at party campaign functions-not necessarily carrying the candidate-but supporters. What have they eg Kemas, JASA, State Government vehicles, police escorts got to do with any campaign activities? On this basis they are considered abuse of government vehicles.
