The Nomination Day at Bkt Selambau has made history with the extraordinary 15 candidates nomination-and also with the introduction of police dogs as a crowd control measure. The police has repeatedly requested a drummer team to stop their drumming -despite it being the only relief for the truly bored party supporters on theBN side. No sooner than the drummer stopped the protests came from the dogs -at least 2 big ones were visible, which were kept inside a police vehicle. The police in charge of the dogs then had to go over to pacify the dogs, instead of the crowd. The SPR was reported to say that drumming is an election offence-but wonder if threatening dog barks were also included in the offensive list? Also : on what criteria do they include dogs in the crowd control team?
The crowd after the nomination was also quite bad-even the police’s water cannon car and other vehicles were caught in the jam. The police did what they know best to get through: stop other vehicles and allow the police vehicles through! They certainly knew how to help themselves with their uniforms.
