The political drama in Perak did went to high gear yesterday where the State Secretariat housing the State Assembly was locked and thus locking up the Assemblypersons who were given notice to attend an emergency seating. So the assembled Assemblypersons assembled under a rain tree to pass resolutions to affirm their confidence in PR MB Nizar and also to dissolve the State Assembly. PR MB Nizar will consequently mandated to inform the Perak sultan to get his royal consent for the dissolution of the Perak State Assembly, paving for the way of a State election.
Meanwhile the BN MB took out an injunction at Ipoh High Court to stop the State Assembly. The Court granted their application and made a ruling against the Speaker using any lawyer other than the State legal advisor, who actually is advising the BN MB currently.
On Friday in a KL court a judge will rule whether to hear a case brought by PR MB Nizar, who seek to affirm his position as MB.
It may be a sad day for the State Assembly where its operation is going to be decided by the Court-another arm of the tri-partite government in the country. How much will the will of the people reflected by the court’s decisions?
