The BN appointed MB was sworn in after the BN thought they had achieved a majoirty at the State Assembly. They never waited for any court to validate their claim. Now that the Assembly Speaker has asserted his power to recall the adjourned State Assembly for an Emergency seating then the BN’s Chief in waiting said that the Assembly seating need to wait for the Court’s decision-refering to the court action initiated by PR MB Nizar to determine who is the rightful MB in Perak. This seems inconsistent given that they never waited to get their MB sworn in, bepassing the conventional process to pass a vote of no confidence on the PR MB. If the government should reflect the will of the people it seems that the decision should ultimately be based on what the Perak voters says-rather than what the court says, even less what the party defectors say!
In anycase Tuesday’s Perak State Assembly seating will be a very exciting event to watch! Keep your eyes wide open-hopefully no more extra-legal means are used to bulldoze BN’s way through to capture power, as happened in Kelantan, Sarawak and Sabah! If the Speaker’s initiative is carried out then get prepared for a state elections within 60 days from Tuesday!
