From yesterday there were complaints of a crackdown on the press -caused by the seizing of PKR and PAs’ newspapers in Perak, and a ban on political ceramahs, also in Perak-which effectively target the PR parties who are about the only ones doing it. These developments are certainly not good for a free and fair elections to be held within 2 months from now!
Meanwhile there are discussions along these lines:
* whether Nizar make a suitable candidate for Bkt Gantang: Some support Nizar for his high profile status; while Nik Aziz, Kelantan MB disagree because he doesn’t support a same person running for 2 positions;Nizar is already an Assemblyperson.
*Whether to sue the BN new MB Dr Zambri, considering that the court would be bias in favour of BN; Pro: to expose the weakness of the legal basis of Zambri’s appointment; The suit postponed to today has been postponed to tomorrow again;
*What can be done for voters to express their unhappiness against the frogs; A suggestion is to do a petition from the limited number of voters in the 3 state constituencies involved;
* whether party hopping is justifiable. BN support it -though sometimes there are disagreements; PR also support it on the ground that those who hop to their side are doing it for the greater good democracy-something which the hop of UMNO’s Nasaruddin of Bota(who then hopped back) had disproved; With both sides supporting party hopping the popular anti-hop sentiments is left hanging in the air despite support from DAP & PAS;
