Now that the 4 Assemblypersons had hopped over (and 1 back to where he hopped from) what can be done for the voters to reclaim their voice? Taking to the street may seems to a way for some. But not everyone would do so. How about conducting a referencdum in the 4 constituencies concerned to ascertain the stand of the electorates? If the voters reaffirmed their choice as in the last general electiosn then the 4 reps can no longer claim to speak for the voters in their respective constituency. This will highlight the need to dissolve the entire State Assembly so as to locate a better State Government team. This seems to be a most peaceful and reasonable course of action for the people/voters to reclaim their voices!
Lesson to be learned from the upheaval: voters need to be more critical in voting for their `reps’ -voting an unreliable rep who is prone to hop away from your trust is a disaster that takes a lot for repair/reversion. In the long run a recall provision is needed to be added to our election laws so that any reps straying from the voters’ stated choices will be made to face the voters’ judgement again. In such a referendum there should be sufficient time for all sides to conduct their campaign to enable the voters to make informed choices.
