I flew into Sibu on Mar 13th 9.04am. I was received by a number of Mafrel’s observers from the 2006 State elections. They organised a press conference at 2.00pm, at a tea-house in the centre of Sibu town, which attracted Bernama and a number of local Chinese press. Earlier a Sibu Daily reporter had even interviewed me before I flew in -showing a high level of local interests of Mafrel’s mission here.
In the evening the local organiser Meng Chuo organised a forum for me to speak about Mafrel’s mission here and previous work. About 30 members of the public, including party members were among the the audience of the forum held at a Catholic church property. Not a good start.
